You will receive two copies of the “brainstorming” compilations to each group.
Each group is to look over the compilations and do the following
- Circle the ten survey questions that you think are the best. I have emailed the list to the entire class. Please have one member in your group copy paste the ten questions that your group selects to mrs s on email. I will then compile the class selections into a survey online for the Maine students to answer.
- Look over the section labeled “Roots and Recipes Presentations. Decide which method of organization would be the best
- By dinner courses
- By culture
- A combination (i.e. each course in the dinner would be from a different culture, like a “mixed plate buffet”)
- By dinner courses
- List the power points that you think would be the best to present in the organization you have chosen.
- Pick one of the activities listed. Sign up with the teacher so that there are no duplications.
- Plan the presentation of that activity by your group.
- Post all of your plans (including who’s responsible) on the class blog.

-First, all of the us should introduce ourselves like saying their name

-Third, we should introduce to them the things we do in Hawaii (we can ask them the questions about Hawaii at this time).

2) By culture: We all agreed that we should show a powerpoint for each different culture we present. We maybe end with a Hawaiian dish and show an example of the dish. Also we should focus on explaining how diverse Hawaii is and maybe go around and share our ethnicities. At that point we could teach them some of the vocabulary and or some pidgin.

4) Activity
Do a demo on making some kind of popular food in Hawaii but something simple.
5) - We can contact the people in Maine who we are presenting to and do an instructional demo on the food. Also, we thought that they and use could be making the food at the same time. So, we would have to contact them in advance.
- Maddie and Shaneika will be the hosts of the presentation.
- Prepare the foods on our background table and introduce each of them.
- In the beginning of our presentation, we can do an introduction on Hawaii and end our introduction by saying," ...and what brings all these cultures all together is ...FOOD!" By then, we would show them the food in the background.
- Then, we can speak in pidgin while presenting. This way it would be funnier.
- We can be interactive with them and have them try and pronounce the foods for us. This way it would be more FUN!! :)
